Why Pastors Quit. And What We Can Do To Change The Statistics.

My journey as a pastor had quite a few ups and downs. Although there were many aspects of serving in full-time ministry that I loved, there were more things that happened along the way that made a negative impact on both myself and my family. After I resigned from the pastorate, it took several years of forgiving and getting plugged in to a healthy church before I really began to heal from the hurt.

I wrote Why Pastors Quit because I care deeply for pastors – those who’ve spent their entire career as a pastor or those who have recently thrown in the towel. I care to see healing from past hurt and restoration to those who have fallen away. Why Pastors Quit is an easy-to-read book that will encourage you and, hopefully, cause you ask the question: What can I do to help change the statistics?

Here is what a few of my friends are saying:

“Why Pastors Quit offers liberating insights and refreshing honesty to a conversation that, for many in ministry, is long overdue. I believe God will use this book to help pastors and their spouses find comfort, encouragement, and divine direction.” —Jason Graves, Author of Anchoredman

Bo Lane is willing to go where few other writers dare to venture. I applaud his passion in addressing an essential topic with fierce courage and utmost sincerity. The Church needs more dialogue on this emerging trend. —Kary Oberbrunner, Author of Day Job to Dream Job

This is a much-needed conversation as it sheds light on a very real problem within the church. I’m thankful I read it. And I encourage everyone to read Why Pastors Quit and wrestle with the truth this book contains. Thank you, Bo, for writing from your heart, as well as sharing some of your past experiences and your passion to see expastors re-engage in ministry once again. —Greg Atkinson, Author of Strange Leadership

Bo is the real deal! He has walked the walk that expastors experience during times of transitions out of full-time Christian Ministry. His love for God is deep and he has a genuine love for the church. Bo knows how to help pastors discover that there is life after public ministry. Reading this will enable you to maneuver through the obstacles of venturing out of ministry safely. —Bob Claxton, Author of The Enter Life Again Manifesto
